1966 Roadster

Wheel bearing rebuild continues...

The wheel bearing rebuild continues on this 66. The original spindle had been marked with a grinder when the previous had tried to remove the bearing. Why use a puller when you can hack it around eh?

The next picture shows the old and new spindles side by side, and then the bearing carrier cleaned and painted and on our mandrel having the bearing clearances shimmed.

Next is the new spindle with the outer bearing pressed on and the spacer and shim laid on there with the inner bearing.

Finally the new backing plate showing the park brake spreader cutout, and the whole assembly back on the trailing arm ready to receive the new spindle.

And thats how it's done!
