We straightened the timing cover and given a coat of orange, along with the new damper and a new water pump. A new seal was fitted and the whole lot reinstalled. Nice and quiet now!
The fan clutch was a later unit that didnt sit snugly on the nose of the water pump, so the correct early fan clutch was fitted.
