The importance of regular servicing

John's 81 in for new discs and pads, a service, and an MOT, this was serviced by another Corvette 'specialist' a while back. The plugs were the wrong type with an incorrect gap and were fouled like you would not believe. The distributor cap had clearly never been off and was absolutely destroyed inside, in fact the carbon tip dropped off when I lifted the cap off... The rotor was burnt, the vacuum advance can was leaking and the distributor main shaft was seized, one of the plug wires had burnt through and had been repaired with some araldite....We rebuilt the distributor, replaced the plugs and leads, and all was well once more

We wound up having the front hubs machined as they had excessive runout and the car suffered from vibration under braking.
Johns car had also broken its steering ram mount and had been poorly repaired, we cut a piece out of an old chassis and let that in. John had travelled 4 hours each way for this work and said the car had never felt as good as it did on the way home.
